About theNewsCollective.org:

This is an alpha release of an experimental, not-for-profit project.

This project attempts to highlight independent, non-corporate, alternate news media. The aim is to give 'air time' to views that much of the advertising-sponsored corporate media ignores. On occasion that some mainstream media gives space to an alternate voice, we try to point to that too.

You might find this site useful if you are interested in listening to alternate and dissenting voices, whatever your reasons. You don't need to agree with everything you read here. I don't -- it would be a cause of worry if everything nicely stacked up along my existing views.

theNewsCollective works with the active participation of newsReaders and newCollectors. Regular readers participate by helping important news to bubble up. You are welcome to be part of this collective effort by recommending and suggesting specific news items as well as entire news feeds.

If you are interested in being part of the effort please feel free to contact me.

The site is updated every couple of hours by culling news from a wide variety of sources across the world. Each individual news item gets rated by users.
